Armidale Family History Group Inc.,
offers a Research Service to people who are unable to visit Armidale.
Please tell us as simply and concisely as possible, exactly what it is
you require. If you have already obtained some certificates, it would be
helpful if you could provide us with dates and places of births, deaths
or marriages, and any relevant names from the certificates. Should you
have any information about the people with the surname being researched,
please type or write it clearly and send it with your application. We
need to be sure we are searching for the correct family.
Depending on the request, volunteers
will search a variety of resources in our Library which include:
Armidale Cemetery transcriptions, family and local histories, "Dust of
Ages" (journal of Armidale Family History Group Inc.), Armidale and
District Historical Society Journals and Armidale Family History Group's
personality and place files.
We make a charge of $30 Australian,
payable in advance, to research one surname in the
resources we hold in our Library. This may be paid by cheque or money
order, made payable to: Armidale Family History Group Inc. Up to five
(5) pages of photocopying is included in this charge, but if more
material is found, each A4 page will be charged at a rate of 20 cents.
All research requests are handled in
the order in which they are received. Please be patient as our Research
Service depends on the goodwill of our volunteers and their available
free time. We regret that we are unable to undertake any requests
falling outside the above guidelines.
